New College House

Project: University of Pennsylvania – New College House at Hill Field

2018 Honor Award – Built Design

Presented to Michael Vergason Landscape Architects

Congratulations to Michael Vergason Landscape Architects, for their University of Pennsylvania’s New College House at Hill Field project in Harrisburg, PA. This project has won a 2018 Honor Award in Built Design! The New College House at Hill Field transforms an ill-defined, damp, turf field at the edge of the University of Pennsylvania’s campus into a vibrant, accessible, and playful public green.  From the lifted lawn, visitors and students have views of downtown Philadelphia and Penn’s neighbor, Drexel University. The New College House, Penn’s first residential college house in decades, brings together undergraduates, faculty, staff, and graduates in a shared community. Both building and landscape promote their engagement with one another, the broader university, and the urban environment that they share.
