Our Landscape Architecture studio is looking for an energetic and creative Landscape Designer to join the Landscape Architecture studio. This individual will have experience managing projects, and possess excellent communication, design, technical, graphic and visualization skills. This individual will be organized and enjoy collaborating with multi-disciplinary design teams.

About the Position

  • Collaborate in generating design solutions and design development with a lens on sustainable design principles
  • Create site analysis diagrams,site plan and sectional graphics and 3D renderings to represent and communicate design ideas
  • Assist in preparing  design presentations for clients, communities and jurisdictional reviews.
  • Assist in planning, preparing and advancing construction documents from Entitlement and Concept Design through Permit and Issued for Construction, including material research and the development and refinement of construction detailing.
  • Proactively collaborate with project consultants and clients to facilitate and advance the design process and coordinate consultant drawings.
  • Assist with construction administration/observation.

About You 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture required. Licensure is a plus.
  • 5-8 years of experience practicing Landscape Architecture
  • Experience and/or interest in a variety of project types in various market sectors and at various scales.
  • Experience in the organization, preparation and advancement of construction documents.
  • Excellent design, graphic and presentation skills
  • Passionate about the profession and willingness to work in a collaborative and deadline driven environment.
  • Strong design and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Lumion and hand graphics.  Experience with Rhino, LandFX, Enscape3d, Revit, D5 Render, Pathfinder 3.0 for carbon analysis is a Plus.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Design & Presentation:
    • Create presentation packages using 3D modeling, graphic design, and desktop publishing software to convey design ideas effectively.
    • Utilize freehand sketching and computer-aided rendering to develop creative solutions.
  • Site Analysis & Research:
    • Conduct in-depth research and prepare site reviews and analyses to inform project development.

  • Construction Documents:
    • Prepare construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Microstation (preferred).

  • Collaboration & Teamwork:

    • Provide support during the construction administration phase to ensure design quality and adherence to timelines.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • B.S. or M.S. in Landscape Architecture.
  • Experience:
    • 4-8 years of experience working in an Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or Planning firm is preferred. However, other levels of experience will be considered.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Microstation / Civil 3D.
    • Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) for graphic design tasks.
    • Knowledge of SketchUp for 3D modeling.
    • Familiarity with ArcGIS for site analysis and mapping.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Knowledge of local jurisdiction and state permitting/approval processes is highly desirable.
    • Familiarity with plant materials commonly used in the region is preferred.
    • Interest in obtaining licensure as a Landscape Architect.
    • Knowledge of sustainability principles, such as ENVISION, LEED, or SITES, is a plus.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
